Daddy and Aunt Pat took me to the Vet today.  I got a shot for distemper and didn't even flinch!  Of course I didn't flinch.  My temper is quite wonderful, thank you very much.  Granted, I didn't appreciate the doctor looking in my ears or at my teeth, but I was a good girl.  It was so good to see our friends at the Vet's office again. Santa came last night!  I was so relieved this morning when we got up 
and found this under the tree!  No, not all of the gifts were for us.  
There were some presents for Daddy and Aunt Pat beneath the tree, too.

It is with great sadness that I have to report the passing of Freddy's 
mother, Gracie. We hadn't known her for very long, but it was obvious

Freddy's been with us for three weeks now, and he's making himself right at home.  I've been doing everything I can to make him feel more comfortable, and he seems to appreciate it.  He certainly licks my muzzle often enough, especially when we're both draped across Aunt Pat's lap or we're playing.

my new brother, Freddy!  He's a 7 year old Yellow Labrador Retriever.  Same breed as Heidi was, but he's a guy, and he's a different color.  Our Vet connected us with his human. Aunt Pat and I took advantage of some nice weather to do some end of the season gardening.  I ate, err we picked the rest of the beans.  But, there are still some carrots left, and the strawberries need some tending.  The carrots are delicious, if I do say so myself.

It's up to me to take care of the humans.  Heidi's back in the hospital for a couple of days so she can get IV fluids and antibiotics to clear up her kidney infection.  The Vet thinks she also has something called Irritable Bowel Disease that can be managed with medication. But, the medication suppresses her immune system, so she has to be infection free before the medication can start. and after photos, though.   Aunt Pat thinks I smell and look  better.   I do look much happier and I have a gleam in my eye.

The weather's been unseasonably warm, and all of the flowers, and trees are blooming early.  

Chloe and I have enjoyed watching the magnolia blossom in the front yard.  It's nice to smell the blossoms that have fallen off, even though they don't taste very good.  Plus, now that people are mowing their lawns, we have more grass to sample! Chloe loves taking long walks, and I'm going for walks again, too!   Monday, I went for my therapy appointment, and the Rehab Vet gave me a very thorough exam.  She said my pulled muscle was healing nicely. I'm not sure if it was the yummy crunchy thing I found under the leaf in the neighbor's yard, or if there was something in the water at the Humane Society when we went for our Christmas photo, but very early Monday, I had some loose stool on the rug where the dining room meets the stairs....in three places. Yesterday was a very big day.  Chloe went to the Rehab Vet yesterday and she was very good.  She can get rather hyper when she meets new people, but she was very interested in everything that went on and very polite.  I think she got a little nervous when the water filled up the treadmill tank.
