Katie is resting comfortably in the hospital. Her blood tests showed that her kidneys aren't working well, but her liver tests, which were off last year, were better. The Vet thinks she may have a urinary tract infection and wants to get a urine specimen, and will put her on antibiotics.
She may need a special diet to help control her kidney failure. Katie will probably be in the hospital for a couple of more days to get her hydrated. She won't be thrilled, but she's a little trouper. The Vet said that when anyone walks by her cage, she'll sit up and take notice, hoping someone will let her out. He'll call again tomorrow with an update.
Chloe and I miss her, of course. We've been staying close to Aunt Pat because we know she hasn't felt well the last couple of days. Mrs. G. stopped by the fence today and wondered how Katie was doing.
